Our Services

Our modern practice on the Costa Blanca offers you almost the entire spectrum of contemporary dentistry – from prevention (prophylaxis) and tooth-conserving therapies to dental prostheses, implantology, dental surgery and orthodontic treatments.

In all areas you can rely on the professional competence and experience of Dr. med. dent. M. Hahn. High quality is also ensured by regular further training, a qualified team and modern technology and processes.

Routine examination to diagnose caries, diseases of the periodontium and oral cavity. Of course we use the latest technology such as magnifying glasses, special optics (Diagnocam), 3D-Dentascan and digital radiology.

Tooth decay is caused by bacteria, especially Streptococcus mutans. If these bacteria are absent, caries cannot develop. By applying a special coating, we can reduce S. mutans in such a way that these bacteria can no longer cause new tooth decay.

Sit back and relax: We offer professional dental cleaning by our qualified dental hygienist. This is wellness for your teeth – in half an hour you will feel like new.

Every person has different teeth – you can’t always get along with a toothbrush “off the peg”. We offer you specially designed brushes with which you can clean every corner of your mouth. Whether electric or manual, you will enjoy the clean feeling.

Did you know that toothpaste is as important as brushing itself? Our care products are specially formulated for caries and periodontitis; this has been confirmed time and again in scientific studies. We will be happy to advise you personally which product is suitable for you.

Professional tooth cleaning

Experienced dental hygienists will look after you thoroughly and gently in order to remove unattractive and harmful soft and hard plaque from your teeth and dental prosthesis. We recommend at least 2 visits per year to avoid further damage.

Cautious methods bring back a beautiful and fresh laugh. Let us advise you on the best way to achieve a good result.

Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry

Our spectrum ranges from micro-invasive composite filling techniques to root treatments with Hi-Tec equipment from Germany and Switzerland to metal-free, all-ceramic restorations such as veneers, inlays, crowns and bridges. We try to preserve your teeth!

By placing a ceramic shell on the tooth, we are able to change the shape and colour of an incisor without having to grind the tooth hard. With veneers you do not have to grind the teeth for a crown, but only roughen the front side. After such a “change of scenery” the teeth look like new.

Many patients complain of headaches and other complaints associated with amalgam. Others just bother with the black seals in their mouths. We offer you amalgam restoration with several alternatives: plastic fillings, ceramic inlays and ceramic crowns. We will be happy to advise you on the various possibilities.

Allergies are on everyone’s lips – in the truest sense of the word. Many patients react sensitively to the metal alloys in their mouth. We would be happy to test it out with you. (kinesiological test – scratch without skin, itching etc.)

Ceramic is the most biocompatible material. In addition to the well-known ceramic inlays, we can also offer you crowns and bridges made purely of ceramic. The zirconium oxide ceramic used is so hard that it can hardly break. The ceramic framework is also translucent and offers unbeatable aesthetic advantages, especially when crowning the incisors: In contrast to ceramic veneered metal crowns, light can shine through (translucency), which comes very close to the optical properties of a tooth. In addition, the gingival margin is not darkened by metal ions, “tattooed”.

Missing teeth can generally be replaced by implants, provided there is sufficient bone to anchor them. Dr.Hahn has placed several thousand implants in 25 years! Put your trust in this know-how!

State-of-the-art technology, such as the 3D computer navigated implanting X-Guide imported from the USA and practiced for the first time on the Costa Blanca, combined with first-class products from renowned manufacturers in Switzerland and Germany, will soon make you bite hard again!

Implants are artificial tooth roots made of the highly stable and well-tolerated metal titanium, more rarely they are made of ceramic. They are inserted into the jawbone, grow firmly into it within a few weeks and then serve as a stable fixation for a crown, bridge or prosthesis. Implants are suitable for all types of tooth loss.

What makes dental implants so special?
  • They feel almost like your own teeth in your mouth.
  • Implants generally appear more natural than conventional bridges or prostheses.
  • It is not necessary to attach it to other teeth. This will spare your teeth.
  • Like the natural tooth roots, implants exert pressure on the jawbone. This prevents bone degradation, which inevitably occurs in bridges and prostheses over the years.
  • In contrast to conventional full prostheses, implant-supported solutions offer a secure grip.

In the demanding field of implantology, training and experience are important prerequisites for being able to treat patients at a high quality level and the current state of knowledge. Dr.Hahn has placed several thousand implants in more than 25 years and regularly trains.

In case of bone decline, there may not be enough jaw bones for the firm hold of implants. In this case, modern bone-building techniques are available today. This usually provides the necessary conditions for successful implant treatment.

We carry out the following bone-building methods:
  • Sinus lift (external or internal): Special bone structure with low bone height in the area of the upper jaw cheek teeth
  • Bone-spreading: If the jawbone is too narrow, it can be widened by bone spread.

In general, implants can last a lifetime. The prerequisite for this is good own dental care in combination with regular implant prophylaxis. This includes careful inspections and the intensive removal of dental pads. You will also receive detailed instructions for your own implant care.

There are some interventions that go beyond simple holes drilling, but unfortunately may be necessary.

The simple pulling of teeth is probably still known to most: After a small anesthesia, the gum edge is first carefully detached from the tooth. The tooth is then loosened in its bone compartment and pulled out. Depending on the condition, let the hole in the bone bleed full or first stuff a tamponade soaked with ointment.

Mostly it is the wisdom teeth, which are still covered by a thin bone cap or are shifted and thus cannot break through properly.

The famous “thick jaw” – often a tooth trigger of this phenomenon: an inflamed tooth nerve or tooth holding apparatus can lead to a purulent infection. Due to the proximity to the brain and neck tissue with potentially life-threatening consequences! Therefore, one should not take a thick cheek lightly. An abscess in the head area must always be opened so that the pus can drain off. In addition, of course, the cause must also be removed, which can sometimes include the tooth.

Sometimes the anatomy of the root tip can thwart the success of root canal treatment. Often there is a so-called delta – a fanning of the root canal, which is difficult to clean. In root tip resection, this part of the root is simply cut: First, an access to the bone is created and the root tip is visited. The bone above the root tip is removed and the root tip is shortened by 1-2 mm. This removes the critical areas of the root and enables successful root canal treatment. If necessary, the bone defects can be filled with replacement materials (e.g. Bio-Oss®) to promote regeneration.

Root tip resection is the last option. Apart from extraction, there is no other alternative.

With more advanced periodontitis, a closed cure (see also tooth maintenance) is often no longer sufficient: Calcified bacterial coverings (concrements) have accumulated on the neck of the tooth, which trigger an inflammatory reaction. The attracted inflammatory cells attack not only the bacteria with their secreted substances, but also bones and tooth-holding apparatus. Therefore, the trigger – the bacterial coverings – must be removed:

For this purpose, the gums are folded down in order to remove all infested areas of the tooth root under visibility. The tooth roots are shortened (scratched) and then smoothed. Through a special seam, the gums are re-arranged tightly.

If necessary, the bone defects can be filled with replacement materials (e.g. Bio-Oss®). Or a mucosal graft is used to cover exposed tooth necks in the anterior area.

Tissue enrichment usually affects the bone. If this is not sufficiently present, it is built up within the framework of periodontal therapy and implantology. Grafts from other areas of the oral cavity or augmentation materials (e.g. Bio-Oss®)are used, which are usually introduced using membranes (e.g. Gore-Tex®). In the anterior area, jaw comb defects can also be built up with soft tissue grafts, which results in a good cosmetic effect.

Dental Laboratory

As a special plus point, we would like to emphasize that our practice is furnished with its own large and modernly equipped denta laboratory. Repairs and underlining of prostheses can usually be done on the same day. Our ceramics specialist from Vienna puts an irresistible smile on your face!

Especially in the visible area, crowns blinded with ceramics are an aesthetically convincing solution.

The advantageous solution

  • Economic veneer solution
  • Aesthetically sophisticated
  • Veneering material ceramic = mucosal-friendly, abrasion-resistant
  • With individual layering hardly distinguishable from the real tooth
  • Decades of very good experience in durability and aesthetics
  • Customizable with all-ceramic level (ceramic edge)

The aesthetically perfect solution is the all-ceramic crown without disturbing metal edges. Indistinguishable from the natural tooth.

The optimal solution

  • Meets the highest aesthetic requirements
  • Very good biocompatibility
  • Cementation by the dentist
  • Not universally applicable
  • Extensive dental preparation necessary

By adding a ceramic shell to the tooth, we are able to change the shape and color of a cutting tooth without having to grind the tooth sharply. With veneers you don’t have to grind your teeth for a crown, but just roughen the front. After such a “change of wallpaper” the teeth look like new.

Durable fillings made of corrosion-resistant bioalloys. Very good tolerability. High gold or gold reduced.

  • Good biocompatibility
  • Years of positive experiences
  • Subjective aesthetics
  • Hardly any accumulation of coverings
  • Highest wear resistance and permanently good edge closure
  • Jaw joint-friendly

High-quality ceramic fillings are the cosmetically perfect solution.

  • Optimal aesthetics
  • Very good biocompatibility
  • Very time-consuming fastening
  • Galvanic neutral

  • Jaw joint gentle, as the chewing area is made of metal
  • Aesthetic compromise
  • Proven for decades
  • Hard to distinguish between real teeth due to individualization
  • Easy cementation by the dentist

All crowns and bridge members can also be fully veneered.

An aesthetically high-quality solution

  • Aesthetically sophisticated – almost no metal visible
  • Individualized, almost indistinguishable from a real tooth
  • Highly recommended supply
  • Proven solution for decades
  • Easy cementation by the dentist
  • High-quality solution for a gap supply
  • Very good biocompatibility
  • Complete aesthetics
  • Not universally applicable
  • Extensive preparation of the tooth substance

If more than five teeth need to be replaced, the clamp prosthesis is a proven and safe dental solution. Brackets secure the seat of the prosthesis. However, they are often in the visible area and are perceived as unaesthetic and disturbing.

The cheapest solution

  • Curved brackets secure the seat of the prosthesis only sufficiently
  • Aesthetically unsatisfactory
  • Stability only sufficient
  • Very inexpensive and economical
  • Easy repair and expandability
  • Abrasion of the teeth by braces
  • Often perceived as disturbing: Covered palate with plastic in the upper jaw

Partial prosthesis, proven supply for the toothless jaw tooth area, among other things for the replacement of free-d situations. The prosthesis is removable.

The standard solution

  • Casting clamps secure the seat of the prosthesis relatively well.
  • Aesthetically unsatisfactory
  • Stable construction, as single-piece casting
  • Affordable and economical
  • Extensibility in case of tooth loss
  • Strong abrasion of healthy teeth possible due to braces
  • Often perceived as disturbing: covered palate with plastic or metal

Clampless dentures, which are only kept safe by several so-called telescopes. High wearing comfort, there clingless and graceful palate plate.

The sophisticated solution

  • Favorable load and stabilization of the residual tooth stock
  • Very good aesthetics possible (depending on the inclination of the residual tooth stock)
  • Good cleaning option
  • Easy repair and expandability
  • Very good wearing comfort
  • Increased space requirement for double crowns
  • Veneering material plastic
  • Very easy to individualize, therefore easy to re-empt the natural teeth
  • Small part in the palate area can be hidden

The prosthesis is anchored by so-called sliding elements. The prosthesis holds without brackets, the retaining elements are not visible. Aesthetically high-quality dentures.

A comfortable solution with a combination of bridge and prosthesis

  • Very good aesthetics due to crowns and bridge technology with veneering material ceramic
  • Good cleaning of the removable part of the denture
  • Connection by a fine-mechanical holding and support element
  • Very graceful
  • Very good wearing comfort
  • Very easy to individualize
  • Favorable load and stabilization of the residual tooth stock
  • A small part of the upper jaw gum can be covered

Combination of fixed and removable dentures. Sophisticated solution with high wearing comfort.

The sophisticated solution with “whistle”

  • Very good aesthetics due to crowns and bridge technology with veneering material ceramic
  • Aesthetically very sophisticated, as veneering material of the fixed crown or bridge parts is made of ceramic veneer material
  • Best replica of natural teeth possible
  • Highest wearing comfort of a free-end situation
  • Absolute palate freedom
  • Very good cleaning option of the removable part
  • Connection by a fine mechanical fastener
  • Cannot be used individually
